An English Heritage project in the heart of Little Kelham, Sheffield; to restore and revive the former office space of a 200 year-old foundry to its former glory.
The finished development covers 15,000 square feet and provides offices and creative workspaces specifically for arts-based businesses alongside ground floor retail units.
Eagle Works is a unique building, steeped in history. As such is has been carefully restored in an aesthetic style that lends a sympathetic and contemporary twist to its industrial roots. It has been re-imagined and refitted with low cost, low carbon biomass energy; new roofing and flooring plus a redesigned internal layout to suit its new purpose.
The charity CADS (Creative Arts Development Space) has taken a 15-year lease on Eagle Works. It is hoped that the longer tenancy on the three-storey building will encourage users to establish themselves there and create even more vibrant communities than are seen at its other sites.
Creative studios range from 75 to 700 sq ft and have the facilities for a broad spectrum of activity including painting, welding and pottery.
